History

Following the ruin of Corfe Castle in the English Civil War, the Bankes built a new family residence at Kingston Lacy. This remained their much loved-home for over 300 years until it was bequeathed to the National Trust on 1981.

The walk

The forest walk is a long one. On a hot day make sure you have plenty of water and sun cream. The walk around the grounds will take about 2-3 hours (depending on pace), but the chirping of birds and light rustle of the tree's make it so relaxing.

Told you

Plenty of views and places to relax and just soak up fresh air.

No idea?

Would like to know who this was. Any idea? let me know!

Inside the building are many items of interest. But, as you can't use flash photography it was a challenge to get anything half decent .

Many statues

This one caught my eye. I just love the sunlight glow from the window. Photography is allowed (Non-commercial use) which is ok as this is for a blog. Shame as I would have loved to of sold some of the images I had taken.

The Garden

We didn't get time to go around the complete garden, but this view just had to be taken.

Woodland? nope, Street.

This gentleman caught my eye! That hat! its amazing! So had to get into street photography mode as I could not let this one go by without a quick snap! With the hat and the sunglasses - It just made this shot perfect!
