Giving it another try

I tried street photography a few months back, didn't go well. Not because its difficult, but because of a lady who a bit rude.

It all started while out with Chloe and we found a brilliant shot to take. All we needed was a dog. One rule of street photography (Which I found out after) is don't ask people. I was so desperate for this shot I asked a group of girls if we could take picture of their dog above a sign. The girls said it was ok and went of to collect there dog. However, things went down hill from here. The mother of one of the girls stormed over and in a nut shell said no because it will end up on social media having a dig at them for their dog being on the beech. I wasn't bothered about the dog being on the beech (even though it was not permitted at that time of year).

This made me lose faith in this type of photography. You see, street photography in this country is perfectly legal. You don't need permission in a public place. You see, you will be challenged. So the key is to look like a tourist and not a photographer. I followed some guidelines and set out my own rules. No children in the shots and no one who is in distress or who looks uncomfortable.

Well, today Chloe and me set off to try again for this one shot. We got it! With thanks to two gentlemen who actually came over to ask if we want their dog in the shot! Well, thank you! you made my day and restored my faith in street photography.

I hope you enjoy this shot.
